Tooth Extractions Near You
At Roblin Dental Centre, our goal is to help every one of our patients maintain healthy teeth and gums. While it’s not ideal, sometimes, an extraction is necessary to help you achieve good oral health. Severely decayed teeth and impacted wisdom teeth are examples of situations where tooth extractions are beneficial. We provide tooth extractions in Roblin to help you achieve a healthy smile.
When Are Tooth Extractions Necessary?
Our dentists will always try to preserve your natural teeth. However, there are times when tooth extractions are the only viable option to prevent oral health issues from occurring or spreading. The following are situations where our dentist will recommend an extraction:
- Severely damaged teeth
- Teeth with excessive tooth decay
- To make room for orthodontic treatment
- Wisdom teeth that are angled or impacted
- Wisdom teeth with a cavity
- Extra teeth that cause overcrowding or misalignment

The Process
Our dentist will determine if a tooth extraction is the only viable solution. If so, we will administer local anesthesia to numb your gums. Tooth extractions can be divided into two categories: simple and complicated.
Simple tooth extractions are performed when the tooth is visible and grown in. Our dentist will use dental tools to gently remove your tooth. Typically, patients will be fully awake during simple tooth extractions. However, if you have anxiety, please speak to us about receiving sedation.
Complicated tooth extractions are performed when teeth, typically wisdom teeth, are impacted. During a complicated tooth extraction, our dentist will make a small incision in your gums to remove the tooth. We will then stitch the gums. Sometimes, a tooth may be broken into smaller pieces to make it easier to remove.
The Recovery Process
After your extraction, we will place gauze pads to control the bleeding. We encourage patients to take it easy and rest for the remainder of the day. It’s crucial not to dislodge the blood clots as they help the area heal. We recommend eating soft foods for the first few days and avoiding hot and spicy foods that can irritate the area. Please avoid drinking from a straw, vigorously rinsing and spitting in the first couple of days. We also encourage patients to gently rinse with warm salt water to prevent infection. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask us.
